Dr. Birnbaum is a dedicated professional
addictionologist who has worked in the recovery
field since becoming clean and sober himself many
decades ago. A graduate of New York University,
he received a D.O. from the College of Osteopathic
Physicians and Surgeons in Los Angeles, and his
M.D. from the University of California at Irvine’s
College of Medicine. Dr. Birnbaum is certified by
the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He lectures
extensively and has been very active in designing,
directing and coordinating programs on alcohol and
chemical dependency in Southern California.
