The Marshak Clinic Malibu
offers an innovative, integrated, and tested substance abuse/addiction
treatment program which is available in the US for the first
time. Recognizing each client as a unique individual with
distinctive needs, the Marshak Method™ provides each
of our clients with an exclusive custom-tailored treatment
plan for Brain Building and Mind Reconstruction™,
based on holistic principles and the results of genetic
testing in a warm family atmosphere, with the support of
an expert and compassionate treatment team.
The Marshak Method ™
quickly and effectively targets and restores the chemical
imbalances in the brain which occur as a result of drug
and alcohol use, and addresses all the aspects essential
for long-term sobriety and recovery. The Marshak Method™
includes a three day family retreat which includes therapy,
counseling, and direct experience with the principles of
the program for all the family members. The 28-day residential
program is followed by a 30 to 60-day comprehensive transitional
stabilization program, as well as follow-up services.
The Marshak Method™
is a holistic body-mind-spirit methodology (patent pending),
for treating chemically dependent adults, based on scientific
research and the traditions of the 12-Step Program. The
Marshak Method™ recognizes that chemical dependency
is a complex disease which has biological, psychological,
as well as a spiritual origins. The major focus of the Marshak
Method™ is treating the true bio-psycho-spiritual
cause of addiction.
We recognize each client as
a unique individual with distinctive needs. Therefore, upon
admission each client is tested for the presence of specific
genetic markers which Drs. Yakov Marshak and Sonia Marshak
have determined to be associated with particular addictive-compulsive
behaviors. The particular results of the DNA test allow
Drs. Marshak to create an individualized treatment approach
for each client which includes a program of natural nutritional
supplements and exclusive exercises. During the 28-day residential
program, natural nutritional supplements are used to neutralize
genetic deficiencies, ease cravings, alleviate anxiety and
depression, and restore a healthy sleep cycle. To further
support health and well-being our clients learn and engage
in a unique exercise program developed by Dr. Marshak over
many years of research. The exercises, when combined with
the natural supplements and the a low-glycemic eating plan
allow our clients to rapidly achieve a more stable mood
and an enhanced sense of well-being. "Brain Building,"
the multi-level biological component of the Marshak Method™
is designed to efficiently normalize and restore biochemical
imbalances of the brain which were created by addiction.
"Mind Reconstruction,"
the psychological component of the Marshak Method™
includes individual and group therapy, family therapy, and
counseling. "Mind Reconstruction" restores our
clients' value system from that of an "addicted"
personality to a "healthy" personality, rebuilding
his or her sense of self-esteem and personal responsibility
toward self, family, and society.
Through Brain Building and
Mind Reconstruction™ our clients obtain the skills
of sober thinking and decision-making. Routine returns to
their lives, and they learn to take responsibility for their
actions. Dr. Marshak believes that for psychological rehabilitation
to be effective, our clients' newly established sense of

The Marshak Method™
offers intensive family support and provides consultations,
lectures, and workshops for family members. On the second
weekend after a client is admitted, the client’s family
and/or close friends are invited to attend a three day retreat
in Malibu. During the retreat, they are provided counseling
and hands on personal experience with the principles of
the program, including exercise and cooking classes.
The Program includes a 28-day
residential program, a 30-60 day extended care program,
and an optional 2-year support and maintenance plan. Each
of our clients is given individual support and taught distinct
nutritional, physiological, and psychological techniques
for identifying and successfully managing the critical points
of his/her recovery. Our clients learn how to effectively
maintain sobriety by continued adherence to these nutritional
and exercise principles.
Every client becomes a part
of the family at the Marshak Clinic. We continue to care
and support every one of our alumni, and offer nutritional
supplements free of charge for two years after successful
completion of the program. Our wonderful "graduates"
meet every week for dinner and fellowship, and all our clients
are encouraged to remain in contact with the Clinic staff
after completing the program.
The Marshak Method ™ Guarantee:
We stand behind our clients
and offer an additional week of treatment - either in the
Clinic or at the Marshak Transitional House, free of charge
to any client who has relapsed after successfully completing
the 28-day residential program and at least 30 days of the
extended care program within the first two years, provided
that the client contacts the Marshak Clinic within a week
of relapse. The additional week of treatment does not include,
and the client is responsible for detoxification and/or
transportation expenses.
